During a week placement at design studio Limegreentangerine, I produced a fictional gin packaging inspired by Mexico. I wanted the concept to disrupt the growing gin market and stand out from the botanical flavoured crowd by introducing quirky and exciting flavours that will attract a new audience to the market; all whilst helping a community project. ALMA, Mexican for ‘soul’, takes inspiration of the flavours and community spirit of Oaxaca, a Mexican town known for it’s Day of the Dead celebrations and vibrant markets. The town suffers from high unemployment rates and poverty. ALMA aims to bring the community together, through a project that will provide manufacturing jobs and sourcing ingredients from local farmers.
